Students in Jill Becker’s computer science classes at Broadalbin-Perth Elementary School put on their thinking caps for an Hour of Code on Wednesday, Dec. 11. During the hour, students were challenged to create a coded pattern to rescue villagers from a dragon. Through trial and error, students developed code to save the day.
Students across Broadalbin-Perth have been working all fall to prepare for their winter concerts. The concert series will begin with the district’s youngest students at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 in the elementary school big gym. Junior high school performers will take the stage in the Margaret Robin Blowers Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, and senior high students will present their concert at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, also in the auditorium. All concerts are free and open to the public.
Students in Tammy Staie’s library media center classes at Broadalbin-Perth Elementary School recently celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday with a classroom parade featuring original “floats” made with LEGO.

The Warriors Within program at Broadalbin-Perth started last year with just a week's worth of events and fundraisers. For the program's sophomore season, it has expanded to be a year-round program that supports local families, regional initiatives, and national charitable organizations.
