Missoula Children’s Theatre and B-P PTO present “The Wizard of Oz”

This week at the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District, students have been able to take part in a residency with the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), a hands-on drama production experience, as part of the district's first full-day week-long summer drama camp. Students entering grades 1-9 auditioned Monday, will rehearse all week, and will perform "The Wizard of Oz" for the public this weekend.

What's Up B-P?! students interview pro baseball player Matt Gage

Students from the Broadalbin-Perth Elementary School worked throughout the school year to create "What's Up B-P?!" The video series offers students a chance to practice their reporting skills while showcasing things happening at BPES. For the final video of the year, students were able to interview Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher and B-P Alum Matt Gage, along with other B-P alumni working in various industries.

First-grade students fly homemade kites

First-grade students spent a day in the sun at the Broadalbin-Perth Elementary School playground flying kites they made. Prior to summer break, the students learned how to make kites while learning about the Children's Day Festival celebrated in Japan every year on May 5, which celebrates how wonderful children are. In their art classes with teacher Janel Dievendorf, students learned about the carp fish kites that are associated with the festival, and what they represent. Students had the chance to make and decorate their own kites, which they then flew.
